SORRY WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED UNDER LEGISLATION SET OUT BY THE UK GOVERNMENT IN RELATION TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS

Monday 23rd March our government instructed all non essential businesses to close until further notice, which included all dog groomers. This was necessary to help slow the spread of this terrible virus.

Please if you have called your dog groomer and been informed they are closed, don't call other groomers to see if they are open. You are very unlikely to find a groomer open, but if you do please be aware they are breaking the law, risking their lives and the lives of others by staying open.

WHY!

The Covid-19 virus can live on your dogs coat, collar and lead. Even if the groomer baths your dog thoroughly the virus may not be completely removed, therefore can be transmitted to the groomer especially when drying your dog. Also the groomer could have the virus without being aware they have and transmit it to you and your family in the same way, and the owners/family of other dogs who enter their salon after your dog.

Because we have been instructed to close, if we work our personal liability insurance will not cover us in the event of an accident.

If we receive an accidental cut from our scissors or a dog bite that requires medical attention or if you are involved in an accident during our journey to the groomers that requires medical attention, this will tie up a member of the NHS medical staff who is needed to treat people who have the virus.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP YOURSELF AND YOUR DOG.

The most important thing to do is to brush your dog thoroughly and regularly to keep him/her mat free and remove dead coat. This is extra important if the coat is extra long. Once mats start to form this makes brushing more difficult and more mats form. If you have any questions about grooming, your groomer will always be happy to answer them.

We are meant to be social distancing anyway, but don't let anyone who doesn't live in your household stroke your dog, because they could transmit the virus that way.

PLEASE help to beat this virus by acting responsible.

Thank you
